A Year Later...
|
It's a little over a year since I last posted. I realize the GKaiser web video series is still not complete. I've had a little life trouble this past year, but I think I've overcome it all. I am still developing the web TV show; I have not given up on that dream. I am in the process of creating a proper film studio with excellent equipment and a talented crew, so hopefully by the end of the year there will be a completed GKaiser pilot episode!
And for those who don't know, the comic has ceased production. There will be no new pages. Sorry. |

The Vampire Channel?
|
Wish I had thought this one up, but I didn't :p
Back when the internet was very young, there was a couple websites around that offered humor. Some of these, such as Mr. T Ate My Balls, provided comedy of a juvenile level.
But there was also Trygve Lode's Treehouse which held humor of wit. One of the jokes was about The Vampire Channel. When I was creating Sigfriedy and Roy-Toy I wanted to have a scene where they watched a Vampire TV station as a'bit of a nod to the site I use to read...but I felt it wrong to just hash out a watered down re-telling of the gag...so I included it with only a small alteration :p
Just letting everyone know this particular gag isn't something I thought up. Everything else I came up with on my own though, for better or worse :p
Anyway, Page16 is up! Enjoy!

Page7 of the latest issue has now been added. Prepare for the revealing of the President's "Secret Weapon!"
Also, I took the liberty of going through all the pages today and fixing spelling errors  I also inserted the old 6 page Bonus Comic into the main archive-- it is between Issue#3 and #4. It should now be a lot less 'hidden' than before.
Todays Dirty, Dirty Joke is political themed, in keeping with the theme of the comic page:
One day in the future, President Bush has a heart attack and dies. He immediantly goes to hell, where the devil is waiting for him.
"I dont know what to do with you," says the devil. "You are on my list, but I have no room for you. You definetly have to stay here, so I'll tell you what I'm going to do. I've got a couple folks here who weren't quite as bad as you. I'll let one of them go, but you have to take their place. I'll even let YOU decide who leaves!"
Bush thought that sounded pretty good so the devil opened the first door:
In it was Richard Nixon and a large pool of water. He kept diving in and surfacing empty handed. Over and over and over, such was his fate in hell.
"No," George said. "I dont think so. I'm not a good swimmer and I dont think I could do that all day long."
The devil led him to the next room; in it was Ronald Reagan with a sledgehammer and a room full of rocks. All he did was swing that hammer time after time.
"No, I've got this problem with my shoulder. I would be in constant agony if all I could do was break rocks all day," commented George.
The devil opened a third door; in it, Bush saw Bill Clinton, lying on the floor with his arms tied over his head, and his legs restrained in a spread-eagle pose. Bent over him was Monica Lewinsky, doing what she does best. Bush took this in with disbelief and finally said, "Yeah I can handle this."
The devil smiled and said "OK Monica, you're free to go."

Ok so, the forums have been repeatedly hacked because they were back a few upgrades.
However, the Invision forums can't be upgraded.
Apparently, a few months ago Invision upgraded their account database for customers........ but managed to lose my account data during the process. So my choice was either pay an extra $100 something or go back to phpBB.
I decided to go back to phpBB. Hopefully we wont get hacked immediantly again.
Unfortunately, everyone needs to remake their accounts again. I apologize for the trouble.

Edit: Today I saw a book at Barnes and Noble called "Filthy Dirty Jokes". It was in their 'bargain shelf' (they have an entire shelf, not a bin) for a dollar, so I purchased it with the idea that every time I update the comic, I'm gonna post a dirty joke, just to give everyone something a little extra to look forward to.
So, today's joke is.....
Two Priests are in a Vatican bathroom using the urinals. One of them looks at the other one's penis and notice's there's a Nicoderm patch on it. He turns to the other Priest and says, "I believe you're suppose to put that patch on your arm or shoulder, not your penis."
The other Priest replies, "It's working just fine. I'm down to 2 butts a day."

Speaking of gamers...there is something rather serious going on in the USA right now that I wanted to bring to people's attention....
A bill called "The Family Entertainment Protection Act" has been proposed that would put several restrictions upon game developers and retailers. Among the proposals is that a government controlled ratings board be created, which is rather controversial because not even the media or TV industry has government regulated ratings board-- it's all independent and peer-reviewed within the industry.
So, using my (pathetic) video editing skills, I uploaded some videoblog footage about the what I think of the Family Entertainment Protection Act. I also uploaded some videos about what videogames actually teach kids. I encourage fellow American gamers to write to their government representatives and tell them to withhold support for this bill.
Unless you actually want Senator Hillary Clinton to decide what videogames you can play.
Then by all means sit idly by and do nothing, because thats certaintly going to happen if we dont unite against this bill.
So, please take a moment to pause the game, visit the Video Game Voter's website and tell a buddy to view the footage so they get an idea about what is going on. It's the least we can do to protect the people who give us awesome games and defend our own right to decide what kind of games we want to play. |

Hehe, I just wanted to apologize for the page on Friday May 26th. I did the comic live from Fanime 2006 and I was on a laptop, on a new scanner, without my tablet, and on a completely new resolution setting. As soon as I got back to my parents house (where I was staying after the Con) I saw how horrible it was to a 800x600 resolution and all I have to say is I'M SO SORRY!!

I just wanted to say sorry that the comics are going up so late in the day lately. The holidays are driving me up the wall with things to do and I'm usually up very late on Sunday and Thursday nights trying to finish up, but sometimes sleep gets the best of me. And there's no way I'd want the comic the suffer stupid mistakes because I'm tired.

Save Teen Titans!!
|
It has recently come to my attention that Teen Titans is going to be canceled. For those that have never watched the show on Cartoon Network, this cartoon happens to be one of the best that is currently on American TV right now.
99% of all cartoons have no real motive or moral story to tell. They do not star "heroes", they star idiotic children who have mis-adventures for no apparent reason, and everything that happens in the last episode bears no weight at all to what happens in the next. Most of the jokes are entirely toilet humor, yet despite this they actually manage to not even be remotedly funny. They are the Diet Coke of animation.
Yet crap like Hi Hi Puffy is going to carry on while a quality show like Teen Titans gets canceled. A show that happens to be one of the FEW non-japanese created shows that stars actual heroes. That entertains just as much as it passes down moral values of justice, friendship and courage.

If your a huge fan of Final Fantasy like me, then you need to RUN, not walk, to buy this movie when it finally comes out in the States. Seriously, this is the movie everyone thought "The Spirits Within" was gonna be. I kid you not, this is the best action movie I have EVER seen in my entire life.

Jen hasnt been feeling so hot lately but is still doing her best to finish pages for Issue#2, so everyone should wish her "Get Well Soon" so that she feels less icky when she has to sit down at the computer to work on the pages. She does a really good job and not enough credit can be given to her. |

On second thought..

Ok, I've been thinking about this a lot. When we did our printed version of Issue#1, only about four people actually purchased the comic. Meaning I have about 1,996 comics taking up lots of space, and a Bonus Comic which hardly anyone has ever seen. Thats depressing, because Jen worked hard on the artwork and I...well, in addition to being unable to share my love for Leonard Nimoy with the world, I apparently wasted a lot of money on those printed comics. So I've decided to release the Bonus Comic on the site for our visitors.
If anyone likes what they are seeing from us and wants to give something back in return but cant afford to buy our junk, you can always list yourself as a fan of the comic at OnlineComics.net and give us some votes. Or vote on the big "Webcomics List" button that is flashing VOTE up there in the top right corner of our site. Or tell your friends about us. Don't be shy. Share the joy that is GKaiser with the world. That's all we're trying to do

We're Moving Forward!

Hey everyone, the latest page of Issue#2 is released now, so prepare to be amazed!
If you are one of our readers who found Issue#1 a little disapointing, I hope that you'll like Issue#2 a lot better. In all honesty, the things which GKaiser is really about dont begin til Issue#2, and hopefully everyone will clearly see the direction this story is going now by looking at the latest update
Also of interest, you may have noticed a brand new banner on the website titled Superhero Exchange . This is an idea I've had for awhile since I became apart of the DrowTales Fantasy Exchange program.
I felt that there just isnt much support out there for superhero-themed webcomics, so I wanted to create my own banner exchange program that could fill this need. So if you have a superhero webcomic or know someone who does, let them know about this service ok?
We're trying to have the forums up tommorrow, so hopefully that will happen. For our previous users, the board will be MUCH better this time, and easier on the eyes
Last of all, I have a small request to make of our visitors. I realize not all of you are able to show your support of GKaiser by ordering merchandise, printed books or donating money and I understand this. But if you, for whatever reason, feel like you would like to contribute somehow there is but one thing I ask of you.
PLEASE tell all your friends about GKaiser. Even so much as a "Hey dude, this is cool, you should check it out". Aside from the monetary investment, the second most difficult thing about running a webcomic is building an audience. So if you have a blog by chance, give us a plug there. You'd be surprised how much traffic you can actually get from a blog plug ( it helps the Google rankings!). But even telling 1 or 2 people about the comic can help considerably. Or running one of our banners in your sig/myspace/personal site.

First, we'd like to apologize to all the readers out there for the recent troubles. Due to a loophole in our previous comic script, some hackers were able to get into the site and cause havoc. Our former webhosting company did not do much to help us out, so we have found a new host, our webmaster is installing all new scripts (for things that require scripts, such as the news you are reading now, the comic, and the forums, and the store), and we are almost finish. The comics are back online and we are going to continue updating as normal. We apologize for all the problems this has caused our readers and patrons, but we can now say we are with a hosting solution that takes a much higher interest in the well-being of this comic as well as secure scripts to prevent this from happening ever again. |
